Joanna's Collection
Creamy magnolias and
delicate peach and ivory blooms pop off of the background of this lovely
floral collection. A secondary floral in a mid-scale
contains lovely floral vines set against a delicate shadow
stripe ground. A small-scale bamboo stripe has such wonderful detail
that it actually looks woven. Tossed cotton boll motifs are used to
create a rich tonal coordinate while a tiny geo tile pattern adds
perfect balance. Packed palm fronds create a unique textural print.
To round things out, there is a braided cheater cloth that will make terrific sashing, borders and setting triangles – just for a few ideas! While this fabric collection will look absolutely beautiful used in bedrooms and throughout the home, it nearly begs for a place of honor on a sun porch – if you’re lucky enough to have one. Jennifer Chiaverini's novel, The Lost Quilter, provides the inspiration for this 61" x 68 bed quilt designed by Laura Blanchard. The focus blocks use the weathervane pattern that is based on a nine-patch construction. The center squares features the medium scale floral print in chocolate brown that is accented nicely with the peach and pink coordinate fabrics. The alternate block is a pinwheel chain block that uses a spring green print as the chain. The combination of blocks provides loads of interest and helps to keep your eye moving across the quilt!
